Leo Grunschlag

Leo Grunschlag is a New York City–based guitarist performing across jazz, rock, pop, and R&B. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, he was immersed in live music from a young age, which inspired him to pursue music. Known for a strong melodic approach and deep time feel, he is an active presence on the NYC music scene, performing regularly in a jazz quartet, 90s cover band, and as a member of an original indie rock group.

Rooted in jazz, Leo’s playing balances tradition with modern influence, emphasizing clarity, groove, and musical interaction. His approach is shaped by years of ensemble work and deep immersion in New York’s live music culture, allowing him to move comfortably between straight-ahead jazz and contemporary band settings.

Drawing on experience across multiple genres, Leo brings a flexible, grounded style to a wide range of musical contexts. Outside of music, he has a strong interest in languages and speaks Hebrew, Spanish, and Russian. He is currently focused on expanding his performance work, developing original projects, and collaborating across genres.
